New Jersey State Requirement Details for Real Estate Broker, Broker-salesperson, and Salesperson License Reinstatement Continuing Education

Hours Required: 12 hours

  • 6 hours in core topics
    • 1 hour in Fair Housing & New Jersey Law Against Discrimination
    • 2 hours in Ethics
    • 1 hour in Agency
    • the remaining hours in any core topic

      • Legal issues
      • Ethics
      • Fair Housing
      • Rules and regulations
      • Real estate licensee safety
      • Financial literacy and planning
  • 6 hours of elective courses - A mix, or all of the same, of any of the following four CE types: ELECTIVES or ETHICS or CORE or FAIR HOUSING

Note: To reinstate a broker, broker-salesperson or salesperson license that expired or became inactive during the current license term, applicants must complete the CE credits applicable in the preceding license term before submitting an application. The CE required to reinstate could have been completed during the preceding license term or during the current license term. If completed during the current license term, applicants must designate to the CE provider that the CE credit should be applied to the preceding license term.

Reporting: The state requires course completions to be reported to PSI. We will report your course to PSI upon completion.

Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account. See Terms & Conditions for more details.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
