How do I get an Idaho real estate license?

First you must meet the prerequisites: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED or its equivalent.
  • Be able to provide proof of legal presence in the U.S.

Then you must complete the following 5 steps:

  • Complete 90 hours of approved pre-licensing education.
  • Pass the Idaho Salesperson Licensing Exam.
  • Complete a background check with fingerprinting.
  • Provide proof of errors & omissions insurance.
  • Submit your notarized application and $160 application fee.

How long does it take to get an Idaho real estate license?

If an applicant spends 40 hours per week on their coursework, the education requirement can be satisfied in as little as 2.5 weeks. Background checks and fingerprint processing, however, can take anywhere from 1 to 12 weeks.

How much does the Idaho real estate license exam cost?

What courses are required for an Idaho real estate license?

Completion of an approved 90-hour Pre-Licensing Salesperson course (consisting of 2 modules) is required to get an Idaho real estate Salesperson License.

  • Module 2 (45 hours) – Study of the knowledge and applied skills involved in listing, selling, buying and closing property.

What are the rules for reciprocity for Idaho real estate licenses?

The state of Idaho does not have any reciprocity agreements with other states. If licensed in another state, it’s possible to receive a waiver for the national portion of the Idaho real estate salesperson exam.

How much does it cost to get an Idaho real estate license?

In addition to the cost of education and insurance, applicants can expect to pay:
