Individual New York Courses
The courses below are for students who have completed previous education. The 32-Hour Broker Remedial course is designed for broker license applicants who successfully completed the 75-hour salesperson prelicensing course and the 45-hour broker prelicensing course prior to December 21, 2022. The 30-Hour Salesperson Remedial course is designed for currently licensed salespersons who completed the NY 45-hour salesperson licensing course prior to July 1, 2008, and are now seeking a NY broker’s license. What does it take to get a broker license in New York?
In order to qualify for licensure as a New York real estate broker, the NY Department of State requires:
- At least two years of experience as a licensed real estate salesperson or at least three years of experience in the general real estate field (e.g., buying and selling your own property, or managing property owned by your employer)
- Completion of both the qualifying salesperson course of 77 hours and an additional 75-hour real estate broker course
- That you pass a qualifying exam administered by the Department of State
