Why should you become a real estate agent in Michigan?

How do you obtain a broker license in Michigan?
- Complete Your Pre-Licensing Education. You must complete an approved 40-hour Pre-Licensing course.
- Pass the Course Exam. After you complete all the course materials and meet the minimum time requirement, you’ll need to pass the course exam. The minimum passing score is 70%.
- Select a Sponsoring Broker. To be licensed, you’ll need to be associated with a current and active Michigan sponsoring broker. Your sponsoring broker will serve as your mentor as you start your career in real estate.
- Submit Your Application. If you want to get your real estate license in Michigan, you can apply through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Once you apply, you'll get an email with an exam candidate ID number. You'll need this number to register for the exam. Keep in mind that your application fees are valid for one year, and you must complete the entire process within the time from the date you paid the fees.
- Pass the Michigan Real Estate Exam. PSI is in charge of the Michigan real estate licensing exam. This exam has 115 questions divided into two parts: one for state requirements and one for national requirements. You'll have 180 minutes to finish the whole test. What to do after your real estate license.
After successfully completing the steps above, you’ll officially receive your real estate license - which calls for celebration!
Eventually, you’ll need to complete your post-licensing and continuing education. You may also desire to upgrade your education to a broker’s license. Here's everything you need to know about maintaining your license.
Michigan continuing education requirements.
In order to maintain your license, you must obtain 18 credit hours of continuing education every three-year licensing cycle with a minimum of two law specific credit hours per year. You can complete all 18 of your Continuing Education requirements online.

Upgrade from salesperson to broker in Michigan (CE).
To get a Michigan Real Estate Broker license, you need to meet a few requirements. First, you must have worked as a full-time real estate salesperson for at least three years or have similar experience. Once you meet this requirement, you can start the process of getting your broker license.
To do that, you'll need to complete 90 hours of approved coursework within 36 months of applying. If you've been licensed continuously, you might not need to take the full 90 hours. Finally, you'll also need to pass an exam given by PSI Services. You can take your education completely online by enrolling in a MI Real Estate Broker License course.
