A mortgage loan originator (MLO) licensed in Maryland is required to complete eight total hours of continuing education annually. This includes:
- Three hours on federal mortgage-related laws
- Two hours on ethics, fraud, and consumer protection
- Two hours on traditional and non-traditional mortgage products
- One hour of Maryland-specific education
This online self-study course satisfies the one hour of required state-specific education. Within the course, students will spend time reviewing state regulations and acts impacting mortgage loan origination activities; perusing scenarios, examples, or case studies; and completing exercises to demonstrate understanding of the content.
