2024-2026 Mandatory CT Appraisal Law Course Supervisory/Provisional Education
The 2024-2026 Mandatory CT Appraisal Law Course Supervisory/Provisional Education course is a three-hour continuing education course approved by the Connecticut Real Estate Appraisal Commission. It is required for all licensed and certified real estate appraisers to maintain their credentials during the current CE cycle. This course provides a comprehensive overview of Connecticut's appraisal laws and regulations, offering vital updates and reinforcing appraisers’ legal and ethical responsibilities. Topics covered include the structure and function of the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), the role of the Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC), and compliance with standards set by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) and the Appraisal Foundation.
Participants will explore current licensing categories and supervision requirements, with detailed instruction on provisional licensing, supervisory responsibilities, and experience log documentation. The course also reviews enforcement procedures, recent statutory changes such as Public Act 24-142, and Connecticut-specific guidelines for Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs). Additional instruction addresses geographic competency, appraisal of complex properties, and the integration of new technologies, including artificial intelligence. Through this course, appraisers will enhance their understanding of evolving regulatory frameworks and ensure compliance with all legal obligations in the state of Connecticut.
